El Diablo restaurant sits on the Islote de Hilario, within Montañas del Fuego (Timanfaya National Park, Tinajo), and cooks meat and vegetables using the natural heat rising from the volcanic subsoil, with a grill set above a five-metre well where temperatures reach around 250°C. The dining room, designed by César Manrique, opens onto the malpaís lava field through a large circular glass wall; the restaurant does not take reservations and tables are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
